  • The driving range will close daily between 12.00 and 13.00 for ball picking. Short game areas and academy holes remain open.
  • Some rooms in the Club House will be ‘out of use’ due to decoration until end of March – weekdays only.
  • Competition entry fee has been reduced from £6.00  to £5.00 for 1 round competitions and there will be an optional 2’s sweep (£2.00)

2015 Seniors (Thursday) Medal/Stableford Competitions will be a combination of tee-times and show & go entry, competition can be entered in the shop with the last card at 3.00pm, cards must be posted in  the letter box near Service hatch by the entrance to changing rooms in the club house. Any cards not received will be deemed as non-returned.

2015 Gent’s (Wednesday) Show & Go Mid-Week Stableford  Dates & courses to be played will be confirmed

Entry in shop all day with last card at 17.30, cards must be posted in  the letter box near Service hatch by the entrance to changing rooms in the club house. Any cards not received will be deemed as non-returned.

Entry will be £3.50. Blue Tees.

ESN Ladies beat Crowborough Beacon 3-2 in the Daily Mail team event at Crowborough Beacon. WELL DONE LADIES!  The reward is a bye into round 3.

Sue Davis & Daisy Wakelin and Stuart Catton will represent ESN in this year’s Daily Mail competitions. Sue and Daisy won their first match 5 & 4, Stuart and Alan were awarded a bye.

CHAIRMAN’S LADDER INFORMATION 

RUSSELL FRYER WINS THE LADDER

The 2014/5 Gent’s Chairman’s Ladder concluded this weekend with Russell Fryer finally beating his closest rival Jon Ogden in the Final. The pair have met twice before this year, with Jon winning both matches, it was 3rd time lucky for Russell as he ending up winning both trophies.

In a close final, Russell always had the upper hand and sealed victory on the 17th Green by 3 & 1.

Steve Love jumped into 2nd spot with a win over Alan Ratcliffe with defending champion, Stuart Sliverlock in 3rd.

Russell Fryer captured both the League for the ‘Mike Orminston Trophy’ (run in conjunction with Ladder) with a remarkable sequence of results, winning 16 out of 18 matches. This was his 2nd success in the ladder to join Micky Milne as the only two players to have won  the event twice.  

There were only 5 two’s, so congratulations to Shaun Groves who nealry aced the 16th, Neil Curtis, Don Bennett, Nick Stapley & Steve Graham who all colelcted £102 each

Nearest the Pins  – Shaun Groves, Neil Sharp , Troy Moore & Simon Heather. 

Malcolm Clear won the prize for best qualifier 44pts and Colin Oliver had the dubious honour of picking up the prize for the most defeats, losing 14 out of 17 matches. 

Justin Scales won the final day stableford with 35pts with Chris Beech & Tom Foreman sharing 2nd place on 34pts.

LADIES LADDER 2014/15

 

2014/5 Ladies Chairman’s Ladder was won by Judith Dingle in a thrilling final played in beautiful spring sunshine against Annette Shelford, the bridesmaid for the second year running having also lost the final in 2013. Anmie Edie finished 2nd as Annette’s defeat resulted in a drop into 3rd spot.

The ladies enjoyed a wonderful lunch followed by presentation. Sue Farrant’s won the league as only one prize can be won.

There were no 2’s winners so the Ladies kindly donated prize to Help for Heroes Charity.
