Academy Membership

Membership at The Academy gives you a year-round comprehensive tuition programme, unlimited use of all of the practice facilities, and use of bars, restaurants, and changing rooms in the clubhouse.

The Golf Academy is fully equipped. Annual membership runs from April to March of the following year. Anyone wishing to join after April 1st can join on a pro-rata basis.

Academy Membership Package

East Sussex National Golf Academy package is £564, and membership includes:

• Up to six individual golf lessons (½ hour each) with video computer analysis
• Unlimited high-quality range balls
• Use of driving range facilities (undercover bays, when available, play off mats in winter and grass tees in summer)
• Use of short game practice facilities (bunkers, putting greens, pitching and chipping areas)
• Reduced green fees on the Championship Courses (subject to availability)
• One weekly group clinic (June – August)

Junior Golf Development Academy - FIRST VISIT FREE!

Our Junior Golf Development Academy is supervised and instructed by Jack Budgen. This programme will cover developing your child’s Golf Swing technique, Shot Making Skills, Course Management, Rules and the Etiquette of the game. As well as improving their golf specific fundamental movement skills which will encourage a functional and repeatable golf swing. All Essential Playing Skills for playing well out on the Golf Course.

Sarah MacLennan

Head PGA and International Teaching Professional for 20 years, Sarah is highly respected and experienced, having taught extensively in Europe and the USA.

For two years in a row, Sarah was voted as one of the UK’s top 25 coaches by Golf Monthly Magazine. She specialises in coaching low handicappers and professionals, using the V1 Digital Video System.

Jack Budgen

Jack Budgen has been connected with East Sussex National for 20 years.

As a junior, he represented England and Sussex, and is one of only a handful of young golfers to have played for the County’s Junior, Youth, and Senior Squads simultaneously.

Jack has developed a great passion for teaching and a keen understanding of the “cause and effect” relationship of the golf swing. He takes a versatile approach in teaching all levels and age groups. TPI-certified-swingman-BLK.

Ian Lewis

PGA-qualified since 2009, Ian Lewis joins the professional coaching team at East Sussex National, bringing a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for helping golfers of all levels unlock their potential.

His enthusiasm for coaching stems from his own journey as an amateur, during which he was mentored by some of the game’s most respected coaches – most notably the late George Will, a former Scottish Ryder Cup player, whose guidance inspired Ian’s path into coaching. As a player, Ian recorded numerous victories in club, county, and professional competitions, and represented Kent – experiences that now shape his coaching philosophy.

Prior to joining ESN, he played a key role in developing a thriving Academy at Knole Park Golf Club in Kent, successfully nurturing players of all abilities.
